Phoenix Kitchen Remodel Tile Floor Removal and Installation

Phoenix Tile Removal Proposal Turns To New Kitchen Remodel.

One of our recent requests for a proposal of removing the exiting tile from a Phoenix residence  kitchen turned into a full kitchen remodel. As we were going over the proposal there were several issues with the placement of an existing set of cabinets and a peninsula that had to be removed in order to get at the tile.
The only alternative was to square off the tile at the base of the cabinets and peninsula which left a different elevation due the tile being a ceramic type less than 3/16" thick.

Square or Square Mosaic- Each tile is 2”x2”. They are mesh mounted on sheets measuring 13”x13”. They are offered in a wide variety of colors.
Diamond Mosaic-Each tile is 2”x3 ½”. Mesh mounting is common and typically on sheets measuring 13”x13”. The color options available are endless.
Octagon Mosaic- Each tile measures 2”x2”. They are mesh mounted on 13”x13” sheets in a wide variety of color options.
Square Tiles- These wall tiles come individually. Typical size is 6”x6”, though there are a wide variety of sizes available. The color and material options are endless.

New kitchen cabinets are a great way to start a kitchen remodel. Once you have the cabinets picked out it is time to start thinking about the finishing touches that make your kitchen stand out. One of the best ways to complete the look of your new kitchen is with a custom tile backsplash. The best part of tile backsplashes is that you can design it to fit your style and use it to add an accent to your kitchen or highlight a color scheme. The following kitchen chose to use a neutral color scheme for the backsplash with a custom framed accent above the stove.

One of the most interesting things about the framed accent above the stove is this is done separately from the backsplash and hung after it is completed. This means that it can be replaced with a different accent at a later date. Though it is difficult to tell by the picture the homeowner chose to do their backsplash in a smaller tile size but the same color as the floor. It really ties the whole kitchen together.

Another great use of a Tile Backsplash is to pull the countertop colors into the design.

The tile backsplash in this kitchen was designed to help tie in the countertop to the entire design. It was a great use of the subway tile design and colors. It really makes the veins in the marble countertops pop. This kitchen was thought out to the final detail. The stainless steel appliances, handles and faucet are similar in color to the silver grey veins in the countertop and tile backsplash.

New Tile Bathroom Remodel

Bathroom Remodel Completed in Phoenix

This bathroom remodel included installation of a new tile shower, tile tub surround and tile flooring. Installation of new cabinets and countertops completed this bathroom remodel. By using different gray tones in the tile the homeowner was able to create a look that is not only stunning but will support any choice of wall color or decorations they later choose to use.

This bathroom includes wall tile in the shower area and around the wall of the tub. Above that is a decrative tile boarder that follows through to the shower. The tub surround includes tile in a classic brick layout. The floor of the shower was laid with a standard small tile and the bathroom floor includes a large tile.

Demolition and Removal of Tile Flooring

Its a Dirty Job but the Right General Contractor Can Help

If you have ever had any tile removed or know anyone who has the first thing they will tell you is the mess it makes. There is no way around the mess but there are ways to help reduce the mess. When breaking up the tiles and removing them from the floor you will have dust flying. It can and will get everywhere! Here are a few things you can do to help reduce the mess.

Shut off the Air Conditioning Unit

No one in Arizona wants to do this in the heat of Summer. The removal experts would rather have the air on, its a physically demanding, dirty, hot job. That being said we recomend the air is shut off because the central air is just going to move the dust around even more.

Shut the Doors

If a room has a door and you are not having tile removed from the room, shut the door. It does not seem like much but it will reduce the space that dust can travel through and help reduce the dust you need to clean up later.

Plastic Please

Your contractor should provide plastic sheeting to cover any doorways going into or out of the room having tile removed. This is something that a good general contractor will provide without being asked. If they don't set up plastic to help reduce the movement of dust ask that it be done.

Negative Air Machine.......YES PLEASE!!!!!!

A negative air machine will reduce the amount of dust left in your home. This is not something that every contractor uses but it does make a big difference. There are many different ways to help reduce the dust that is a part of the tile removal and a negative air machine is just one of them. The important thing to find out is how your general contractor plans to help reduce the mess.

Bathroom Remodel in Phoenix Featuring Tile

This latest bathroom remodel in Phoenix, AZ, which features tile, is sure to put a dreamy look in your eye and spark thoughts of your dream bathroom. While it is true that a coat of paint and different fixtures can make a world of difference in any room it is understandable that your ultimate bathroom might require more than paint and fixtures. This bathroom was enlarged from its original size by incorporating one of the closets from the master bedroom. Not only is the space much larger but it allowed the installation of a clawfoot tub and a separate shower stall. The tiles chosen are in different shades of browns and tans which are accented with Dusty Gold color on the walls.

The shower stall has a porcelain wall tile surround with a custom designed chair rail border which echos the floor tile in the shower. This shower also includes a built in shelf and chair.

Custom Tile Design in Sun City

Kitchen AZ Cabinets just finished a remodel project that included the installation of a custom designed porcelain tile floor. This home in Sun City Arizona chose to use a transition piece to accentuate the areas that define each room in their home. It was a charming way to clearly divide the space in an open floor plan home.
